Bath & Body Works Manager Doesn’t Want to Work With “Satanists”

Wiccan and Witches In The News No Comments »

After seeing this in a tweet, I read this article posted up on The Wild Hunt that a Bath and Body works manager was fired when  taking off a week last year to celebrate Samhain.  This is something that she had done every year for the last six years!

Her old manager had approved the vacation almost a year before.  When a new regional manager was promoted over Gina Uberti, however, they questioned the wisdom of her taking off during a promotion that Bath and Body Works was holding at that time called “Signature Restage.”  Gina explained that she had asked for the time off a year in advance.  When pressed why she needed that week, she explained she was going to Salem to celebrate Samhain, the New Year. She explained about Wicca, the Sabbats, and how this Sabbat was considered the holiest of them all.

“Uberti says she explained that her vacation had already been approved and that she was celebrating a religious holiday.  Uberti says Scibelli responded, “That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Let me ask you where your priorities should have been?” Uberti says she asked what was ridiculous, and Scibelli replied: “Well, you will need a new career in your new year.” Scibelli allegedly added, “I will be damned if I have a devil-worshipper on my team.” Uberti says she was fired in November 2008. She seeks lost wages and punitive damages for religious discrimination.”

I can’t believe that a manager of a store that sells bath and body products, after having the holiday explained to them, would make a comment like that.  We don’t even believe in the devil, let alone worship it.

If you are as outraged as I am about this, make sure you write Bath and Body works by clicking here.

You can read a pdf file of the court documents here.

We are adding to our handmade alter tools!

Wiccan Craft Items No Comments »

If you notice the set we made I posted about earlier, one thing that is missing is a goblet. We wanted to make one, but as far as my husband and I knew, there wasn’t any way to glaze the chalice and make it safe to drink out of without firing it.

We stopped yesterday at a local craft store and told her our dilemna. Both of us have worked with greenware in the past, but it was 20 years ago. We happily found out that times and materials have changed. And we found a glaze we can spray on that will coat the chalice and make it safe to drink out of. Whooo hoo!

So my husband carved a chalice last night, and it has the triple moon on the front of it like our cauldron does. We also have a triple moon tile that we can use to burn our self-igniting incense we will be coming out with in the next week in. This will give us a more complete altar set than we had before.

I’m also going to have him carve a Libations dish, and a bowl for water. Along with our wands that we make, that will give you everything you need for your altar, and it will be a matched set. :) And the best thing, it is all hand made in the USA by a practicing Wiccan and her helpful husband…not some factory in a 3rd world country.

I told him I want a purple set of everything. Have I mentioned I love purple? I tend to wear a lot of it, and my office walls are painted a light lilac color with dark purple flecks that have glitter in them. So I likes my purple. :)

Always great to be able to post that more products are coming soon!

Finished up my first batch of ritual oils last night

Wiccan Ritual Oils 2 Comments »

I spent all yesterday afternoon and into the evening making up my first batch of ritual oils. It was a slow process, as each had to be individually mixed and charged. I made enough oil for about 3 – 6 .5ml bottles, so I have some on hand when it sells.

As I was mixing each oil, I visualized the essential oils as I added in bringing the properites of the oil to help whomever used it to reach their goal. Then, I infused magickal energy into each one when done.

I plan on infusing them with energy all a 2nd time as I sell them, just to give them a little extra kick.

Today I have to take pictures of all of them, write eBay auctions, and get them online. I also need to start getting items posted up on my website too. That tends to suffer because I always concentrate on my eBay store first.

I’m pretty excited about the oils. All are mixed in a base of Jojoba oil. Why Jojoba oil? According to Scott Cunningham, it was his oil of choice. See Jojoba oil is actually a wax that is liquid at room temps. (and it is solid when I store it in my garage shop in the winter, lol) It is made from the Jojoba plant which produces a bean pod and when heated, the beans cause an oil to be secreted. The desert peoples of Southern California and Mexico had long been using this oil to treat skin conditions and cuts.

Because it is a wax more than an oil, it does not go rancid like other oils will, giving it a very long shelf life. I’ve used Jojoba oil in my shea body butter mixes for years, and also use it when I make lip balms. It has been my oil of choice for many things. It has been a great day. :)

Welcome to the Pampered Goddess

Day To Day Life No Comments »

Like the name? I’m Virginia, and although I love the name, I’m far from a pampered Goddess, lol. A bit about me, I’m 47 years old, been a practicing solitary wiccan since 1992, and live on an acre of land in Pahrump, NV with my husband and two cats.

I’ve done a lot of things in my life. Everything from managing condominium complexes to file clerk. Waitress to auditor. But currently I’m a self employed webmistress, and part-time crafter.

I started a business in 2005 called Old West Soap Company. I sold all natural soaps, some old west shaving soaps in a tin, shea body butters, and molded soaps. But after a few years, I felt limited by the product line, and limited by the name. It connentates to me products used in the old west.

So I started with coming out with a line of products called Goddess Divine. Body butters and shower gels, because you deserve to be pampered like the Goddess you are!

This past Christmas, at a large craft show I was really looking forward to doing well at, we bombed. I was ready to heave everything into the trash and just forget crafting. But since I had invested a lot of time and effort into it, I decided to meditate and perform some rituals on it to see what my path should be.

As I was mixing up some essential oils for my candle dressings for my ritual, it dawned on me that I had all the ingredients (other than some smaller sized bottles) to sell ritual oils to other wiccans. And a lot of my organic soaps and shower gels would be really good to use to wash before rituals, and just to pamper yourself with goodness.

Thus, the Pampered Goddess was born. Bought the domain, got the dba, then went to change my eBay ID, and someone already had it, darn it. So I decided that The Pampered Goddess would be the home of my blog, and The Pampered Goddess Magickal Shop would be the home of my online store. I also have an online eBay store at, you guessed it, at The Pampered Goddess Magickal Shop.

I feel enthused and energized into a new path. I get to take something I love, my craft, and blend it with all natural ingredients that I really believe in. It isn’t every day that you get to do that.

So I hope you enjoy my blog, and take the time to drop a comment or two while you visit.

Blessed Be!
