My husband and I worked on grinding up the ingredients to our next incense blend, banishing negativity, and we decided to make some self igniting incense. We divided the batch in half, keeping half for the type you burn on a charcoal tablet. Then we mixed it with 10% of a chemical (I’m leaving this unnamed as I don’t want someone to get hurt if they don’t know what they are doing). We tried to light it and it didn’t burn.

Unfortunately, I missed the page before and the 7 other ingredients you had to put in it, lol. Before I found that though, we upped that one ingredient from 10% to 20% and found out it created an incense that as it came close to burning out on a charcoal tab, suddenly flared into a 3″ flame with sparks.

So, we are keeping that 1/2 of the batch to ourselves. I just showed what it did to my brother yesterday when he was visiting, and he said the smell reminded him of his days in college when they burned church incense. He had a lot of pleasant memories of that. (He attended collage at a music/religious university)

It doesn’t surprise me that it smells similar, as I could see a church using some of the ingredients to try and banish what they perceived as negativity (or evil) from their ritual space (the church). I do know that burning it in our house, along with filling it up with a lot of smoke, has made the air feel lighter and more positive.

Although my husband and I do get a bit negative at times (our income has dropped quite a bit in this economy) we have a lot of confidence in our higher powers to pull us through and to be more successful coming out the other side. I know the Goddess and God are with us during the rough times, peanut butter sandwiches, and lack of being able to do anything like go out to eat, or watch TV. (we discontinued Direct TV to save money). And she is also inspiring us in our products to sell to other Wiccans to help our income to grow.

So look for our new incense in a few days. We have slowed down this week in getting new products up with enjoying visiting with my brother, but next week we will be back in full swing.

One of the craft items I’ve been wanting to make and sell are sets of rune stones. So last night, during the full moon, I crafted three sets I’ll be putting up on eBay later on today.

What makes these stones special is not so much the stones, they are plain black tumbled stones, but the fact that they were made on a full moon. I then took them into a ritual circle, and called on the elements from the four quarters, the Lord and Lady to come and bless the stones and give the caster true seeing from them.

Then I went into meditation and met with Aule the blacksmith in his underground cavern, and asked him to bless the stones, and tried to charge them with as much magickal energy as I could.

Finally, I rolled them in sea salt, washed them in spring water, then smudged them with sage to remove any possible negative energy left from where ever the stones came from.

I really felt good, and as luck had it, I timed the casting of my circle with the exact time of the full moon… 10:27pm.

So whoever gets these stones should have the most powerful set of runes I can make…well, at least until I make more on the next full moon.

This is the type of crafting that I love, and I hope that the lucky buyer really loves them too.

Like the name? I’m Virginia, and although I love the name, I’m far from a pampered Goddess, lol. A bit about me, I’m 47 years old, been a practicing solitary wiccan since 1992, and live on an acre of land in Pahrump, NV with my husband and two cats.

I’ve done a lot of things in my life. Everything from managing condominium complexes to file clerk. Waitress to auditor. But currently I’m a self employed webmistress, and part-time crafter.

I started a business in 2005 called Old West Soap Company. I sold all natural soaps, some old west shaving soaps in a tin, shea body butters, and molded soaps. But after a few years, I felt limited by the product line, and limited by the name. It connentates to me products used in the old west.

So I started with coming out with a line of products called Goddess Divine. Body butters and shower gels, because you deserve to be pampered like the Goddess you are!

This past Christmas, at a large craft show I was really looking forward to doing well at, we bombed. I was ready to heave everything into the trash and just forget crafting. But since I had invested a lot of time and effort into it, I decided to meditate and perform some rituals on it to see what my path should be.

As I was mixing up some essential oils for my candle dressings for my ritual, it dawned on me that I had all the ingredients (other than some smaller sized bottles) to sell ritual oils to other wiccans. And a lot of my organic soaps and shower gels would be really good to use to wash before rituals, and just to pamper yourself with goodness.

Thus, the Pampered Goddess was born. Bought the domain, got the dba, then went to change my eBay ID, and someone already had it, darn it. So I decided that The Pampered Goddess would be the home of my blog, and The Pampered Goddess Magickal Shop would be the home of my online store. I also have an online eBay store at, you guessed it, at The Pampered Goddess Magickal Shop.

I feel enthused and energized into a new path. I get to take something I love, my craft, and blend it with all natural ingredients that I really believe in. It isn’t every day that you get to do that.

So I hope you enjoy my blog, and take the time to drop a comment or two while you visit.

Blessed Be!
