Archaeologists have discovered a second henge at Stonehenge, described as the most exciting find there in 50 years.

The circular ditch surrounding a smaller circle of deep pits about a metre (3ft) wide has been unearthed at the world-famous site in Wiltshire.

What is really neat about this discovery is, it wasn’t made by digging, but by scanning the area with high tech scanners, and mapped virtually.  For a long time archaeologists figured it was all empty fields around Stonehenge, now this study is proving different.  To read the entire article, plus watch a short movie on it, click here.

The wand is the wand I made for myself out of mesquite, with an amethyst point, and purple suede.  The table they are on is my working table for spells in progress, and yes, I really do have light purple closet doors. I put their names on the front of the candles.  They are a blend of soy and candillia wax, with blackberry leaves, mesquite leaves, lemon balm, Myrrh and a bit of cat nip (for the cat angles) ground up and embedded in the wax, along with 6 rose quartz chips.  I also added a few drops of rosemary essential oil, and pine essential oil but not enough to make them scented.  The next batch I make will have lavender to make them lavender scented, as I have a lot more of that scent.

I also put a little cat angel on the back, and the rune URUZ for healing.

Then I added some paw prints.   These were a real labor of love, and took quite a while to make.  I will have some additional ones available on my store soon.

Then Friday, I went into the garage to feed the cats, and found the cat we trapped and had fixed on Tues, curled up dead.  So I buried her on our property, feeling terribly guilty for taking her in.  I tell myself, she might have had other issues going on, or been sick, as all the rest have survived the surgery no problem.

When Jim and I talked about Two Tone was on the other side of the veil, helping his brother and sister that remain become more domesticated, so we can move them in the house, inspiration was born.  The idea of “Cat Angels” came to me, and although not a new idea, I brewed it in the back of my head.

At the same time, I’ve been trying to come up with a craft item I could use cat food cans for, as we are going through dozens a week feeding the strays and our kitties.  So while burying our last stray on Friday, and praying to the Goddess over her, I came up with the idea of Cat Angel Candles.

I’m currently working on the first batch, which is a labor of love.  We take the labels off, clean them really well, then soak them in bleach water for a few hours to get any lingering traces of food off them.  Then we clean them with acetone to get the label glue off them.  Then the fun begins, as I take a dremel and patiently grind down all the left-over bits of the lids to make them purrrfectly smooth inside.

I had gotten about this far with the first batch, when I found out my Son was in the hospital Friday afternoon, and his Fiance was also having health issues.  So my candles have evolved into Cat Angels helping with healing.  My first candles are for the two of them.  I gathered every healing herb I have on my property (a bit of mesquite for healing, lemon balm,  and blackberry) then added cinnamon and Myrrh and ground it with a mortar and pestal.   I also added rosemary and pine essential oils for healing too.

I’m using a blend of soy and candelilla wax for vegan candles.  Finally as the candles set, I placed rose quartz chips in the top of the wax for further healing energies.

The outside of the can will be personalized with their names, the rune URUZ for healing, and of course, cat paw prints.  I’ll post up pictures later on today when I’m finished.

Once I finish theirs, and set them on my working altar along with their pictures to send them healing energy, I’ll start making some to sell in my online stores.  I plan on donating 25% of the proceeds to Pahrump SNAPS, a wonderful local organization that is helping me get all my stray cats spayed/neutered for me.  They also provide discount shots for pets, which I took advantage of yesterday and dragged my 4 indoor cats down and got all their shots updated.  I helped fill shots for the vet, and will be volunteering once a month to help out doing it for them.

So although we have had a lot of heartache this past week, from our cats to my son (who is doing much better, and hopes to be out of the hospital today…I’m hoping my healing prayers have been helping), sorrow has spawned a craft idea that will help us raise money for a worthy charity, and raise money so we can continue to feed stray cats no one else would love but us.

The cats are tuxedo cats and Persian (they have way to fluffy hair to just be tuxedo cats) and don’t care for each other too much, lol.  They have been living in our bedroom and bath away from out other two cats Loki, (A big Bengal boy) and BuBastis (and Abby girl).  They are pretty shy, and tend to hide under the bed and in the closet a lot, but the last few days they are getting used to us, and want lots of petting.

We have been leaving the bedroom door open, and letting our other cats in to interact with them during the day, so no wars…yet.  But I hope eventually the sisters explore the rest of the house.

This is Angel.  She had mats the girls cut out of her hair, so she resembles a plucked chicken in parts, poor thing and had her skin cut in the process.  Once she heals up, we are going to get her Lion Cut shaved so she will grow out evenly. She also looks like she has black “hair” on her head, parted in the middle, with curls on the side, kinda like Alfalfa from Our Gang.

This is Oreo, who is gender challenged as she has a perfect mustache and beard. She is a pretty cat, and loves lots and lots of petting. We have never heard her make so much as a peep since we have had her. (Angel makes the cutest noises).

We adopted them before Mom and Two Tone came back injured, and made the decision to bring them into our home. So we will have 7 cats total in our house. Poor Loki and Bu, they had the house to themselves for 4 years and now they will be sharing with lots of cats.

Unfortunately, little Two Tone didn’t make it.  His paw started necrotizing. A large hole developed you could see into the tendons and bones, and he was put to sleep on Friday.  It was a heart breaker.  We are still not sure if Mom and baby were tortured or not.  Denise, the head of S.N.A.P.S is looking to have his paw sent to be analyzed to see if we can figure out if it might have been a bite (like a black widow or brown recluse) or if it was something someone human did.  I still don’t know how anyone could harm a cat and a 4 month old kitten.  Very, very sad.

Here is a pic of Mom, her neck is healing nicely, but they shaved it when they fixed her since her hair was matted into her wounds pretty bad.  She has put on a bit of weight, and getting more and more domesticated as she now wants a lot of petting.

Two two remaining kittens are Creamsickle, a little boy, and Smoke, a little girl. Just a few days ago Creamsickle now wants to be petted a lot, and Smoke more so, so they are getting more domesticated too. They are fun to watch playing with each other in our garage.

During all this our Mom cat, who has been living on our porch with 4 kittens, took off with the runt of the litter, Two Tone.  Tues they finally showed back up.  Two Tone almost died before we could get him in to see the wonderful angels at the animal shelter.

Now I find out that their wounds were “odd”.  Mom looked like someone tied a rope around her neck, that she tried to get out of, and had cuts all over her neck.  Not scratches like an animal would make, but scrapes and cuts.

Two Tone’s paws were swollen 2 – 3 times their size.  I sat on the floor of the shelter yesterday, holding him wrapped in a cloth while we got an IV and fluids into him.  He was dehydrated, and looked like he had been wet down, then rolled in dirt.

But when the vet tech injected a solution into his paws to clean out the infection, the water poured out of multiple tiny holes…like someone took a needle and repeatedly stuck it in his paws.  We think now he was tortured, neither of their wounds look like they were caused by a wild animal, but human caused. What kind of sick bastard would torture a 4 month old kitten?

They were safe on our property! But we were afraid that Denise (woman from S.N.A.P.S.) who spotted Amelia hiding in the catnip, might have spooked her, and since Two Tone always followed her, went with her.

We have already made a vow that if Two Tone makes it, we will bring him into our home and not let him out again, so that no one ever harms him like that again.  I ask for prayers for my kitty and Mom.

I am a white witch, and have protection spells around my property.  This is the first time in my life I have ever felt like violating the “harm none” law.  I just hope whoever tortured my cats, karma catches up with them.

More about how this set was crafted

This set is 100% handmade from scratch, except for the candles. First, my husband carved clay for all the items. Then we created rubber molds, and then each item was cast using an all natural stone-like product used in the construction industry for repairing walls.

The items were then hand painted with copper color paint. Then we used a green paint to give it a patina look. Finally, we painted the bottoms and added felt feet so they wouldn’t scratch your altar. (not shown)

Cauldron: 4 1/2″ wide and 2 1/4″ tall
Goblet: 3″ tall and 3 1/2″ in diameter
Salt holder: 2 1/4″ wide by 1 1/2″ tall
Altar tile: 4 3/4″ in diameter and 1/2″ tall
Candle holders: 3 1/4″ in diameter and 1 1/2″ tall to the tallest point.
Candles: 6″ tall tapers

The candle holders are my design and have a “mote” around the candle holder. Most candle holders I’ve found for altars allowed the taper candles to melt over them and onto the floor or your alter, creating a waxy mess. These candle holders will contain the wax that drips during your ritual, to help keep your altar and/or floor clean during rituals. The candles fit tightly, so you might have to pare the ends slightly to get them to fit. Don’t force the candles in.

The Cauldron can be used to burn incense in safely. You can either use self-starting powered incense, or place a charcoal in the bottom, and sprinkle herbs/incense/resins on the charcoal. You can also put a bit of clay or silly putty in the bottom, and stick a piece of stick incense in it to burn. You can also use your Cauldron to mix spells in.

The goblet has been sprayed with a clear sealer to make it waterproof, so it can be used to make blessed water in, or hold wine.

The Triple moon sticks out almost 1/2″ from the side of the cauldron, giving it a unique look. All in all, this set is a wonderful set for a beginning witch, or a treasured set for one who has been practicing the craft for years!

This set took a lot of time for my husband and I to create. We hope that you enjoy something that we really enjoyed working on together for your altar!

Note: although these are cast with a stone-like material, they are not unbreakable, and can be broken if dropped, so care is needed to keep from breaking.

It has an antiqued copper bail, that has a sun symbol on the back. The back has been sealed with a glaze making it water resistant, but not water proof. You should remove the necklace before swimming or bathing.

So many of you are Warriors for the Light and you don’t know it, at least on a conscious level. But on a subconscious level, you definitely are one! You see, there is such a thing as a ‘Peaceful Warrior.’ It does not mean you are out killing people or beings, are violent, are extreme in any way. Nope, just the opposite.

Let’s look to see if you qualify to be a Warrior for the light:

1. If you desire peace over war.

2. Believe that we can all live in coexistence on this planet with everyone and everything without violence/fighting/killing.

3. Are trying not to pollute this planet in myriad ways from large to small.

4. Believe everyone is allowed to believe what they want and respect them for their right to do this.

5. Does not allow FEAR to run/rule you. Understands that FEAR holds us a prisoner not only of ourselves, but others as a group. FEAR keeps the Dark in control.

6. Knows on some intuitive level that LOVE and compassion is the only way out and up from this mess we’ve created on Earth.

7. Works daily to do at least one good thing for others.

8. Has healthy boundaries (or is working to have them) in place so that you are not giving away your life energy to others beyond that line in the sand.

9. Is not a ‘victim’ mentality and knows that you are responsible to do the hard work yourself (instead of whining that you’re not getting a hand out from someone else).

10. That you do not blame others for the choices you are making daily, rather, take responsibility for all of them.

11. Understand that change can only come through you and changing yourself, you can change this world and its vibration to a Higher Frequency and move it into the Light.

12. Meditation, yoga or some other form of ancient tools are practiced by you on a regular basis because it puts you in touch with the Cosmic Love and energy that is always there for us.

14. Do not attach into powerful emotional dramas; your own or others because it is emotional drama that keeps us trapped. 15. You do not practice pity or sympathy. Rather, you are learning to practice compassion–daily–in large and small ways.

16. Visualizes daily, a world at peace, with people happy to be working with one another toward a common, shared goal of harmony. To see poverty, starvation and classism dissolve. This is done through meditation, quiet moments, prayer work or any way that you connect with this desire. To see an Earth that is no longer polluted, that all our relations work in tandem with us, not against us, is part of this Visualization. That we do not see “Man” as the top of the pecking
order; rather, a part of of it.

17. Practices humility and understands that we are part of a much greater fabric of Being, and that humans are not the center of any Universe. That we are all part of a greater cog and wheel and we’re a Mere part of this incredible, miraculous and ongoing process.

18. That our best teachers are inside ourselves, not outside of us. Outside teachers are necessary, but we SIFT or SIEVE through what they tell us and keep what feel right and releases the rest. Teachers outside of us, well intended that they may be, are flawed and human. We are not attracted to Gurus or one leader who knows all (they don’t). Rather, we honor our own knowing. The Guides within you are perfect and will never lie to you. To listen to your own inner Voice / Heart / Intuition is your best resource and guide to the Light.

19. Respect for all life, no matter if human, animal, reptile, organic or inorganic; everything has a spirit within it and energy around it. Treating all life as if it was your relative. Treating all life as equal to your own.

20. Respect for all people, regardless of religion, race, nationality, skin color or gender. You understand that if we don’t share this respect that we do not respect ourselves, either. What is reflected outside of us is a reflection of who we are inside ourselves. Embrace the community of the Earth for we are part and parcel of it, never disconnected from it and that what is reflected is us. And that if we
don’t like the reflection we can change it–within ourselves first–and then it will affect change globally.

21. That all things are made up of energy. That energy can be changed but never destroyed. Understanding that energy can be moved from Dark to Light by simply being in your heart and desiring it to be so, can make it so.

22. Knowing that Dark is as necessary as Light and that we, as a planet, have gone through 13,000 years of Dark but that our DAWN and first LIGHT are going to arrive shortly by 2013. And you want to prepare for this incredible Grace and energy distribution that is free to all who desire it.

23. Do not practice Classism; that one group, gender or person is better than another. We all have a heart, a mind and share the same red blood in our veins; which makes us equal.

24. Stands up and is counted when the Dark descends upon you. It may mean standing quietly in your core for small or large challenges that may arrive in your life / career / family. You know the difference in when to fight, when to retreat and to choose your battles wisely.

25. Understands the use of anger but uses/transforms it into a pro-active energy and action to catapult Light, instead of sinking into the rage which puts us into the firm clutches of the Darkness. Anger is a useful tool, but never taken out to harm others. Ever.

26. Does not envy anyone, is not jealous of anyone and is learning to respect your own inner qualities, skills and who and what you are, instead.

27. Does not lie; will always tell the Truth.

28. Does not tell half lies or half truths or some part of truth you feel you want another to know–but not the WHOLE truth. Truth will out and you know that. You are willing to tell the truth even if it does not get you what you want, even if it humiliates you or shows you to be terribly human. Truth is one of the core qualities of a Warrior for the Light.

29. To recognize and absorb and radiate the beauty that is all around you; large and small. To acknowledge the beauty in others, in yourself, and in ‘all your relations’ that live with you on our planet.

30. To have FAITH when the darkness falls upon you. When you go through the ‘gauntlet’ or the Dark Night of the Soul, as all of us must and do, to know that God or whomever you believe in, is there to hold and support you through this transformative action.

31. To surrender over to a higher power only. You do not surrender to anyone else, for that is giving your power away. Understanding that by surrender, you are placing yourself in the hands of a compassionate energy (be it God or whomever you believe in) who loves you and will take care of you no matter how rough Life gets for you.

32. To understand that “this took, shall pass,” and that whatever harsh Life lessons you are learning now and in the future, that the cycle will stop and complete itself. That you must just persevere, surrender to a higher power and have faith and do the best you can with your test. That is all that is required of you.

33. That you are a unique being here on this planet and that who you are, what you are, is needed and necessary for the Light to dissolve the Dark. Belief in yourself, respect of yourself, is essential as never before. Each person is like a beautiful wildflower–different and yet beautiful in your uniqueness.

34. Honoring your skills, your experiences in life that have shaped and formed you. That what you know is unique and only you have this knowing. These are tools you have developed that can be utilized not only by yourself, but shared with others on a positive level.

35. You treat your body as a temple and as a partner. Giving it nourishing food, healthy food and caring for it as a mother does her baby, comes instinctively. Addictive foods, smoking, and alcohol may be your challenge but you actively work to halt these and make your body an abode that resonates with harmony.

36. Realizing that we are all here on this fragile planet called Earth and that if we do not take care of it–or ourselves–that we will having nothing in the future. And the desire to create a planet as a haven and a new Garden of Eden is a quiet driving force within your heart and spirit.
