Saturday is the New Moon Here is a Let Go and Change Spell

New Moon Rituals No Comments »

What do you plan on doing for the New Moon this month?  Me, I want to get rid of some old habits…mainly eating bad foods that involve flour and sugar…something I struggle with.  So I plan on doing a let Go and Manage Change spell this New Moon.  This spell comes from last year’s A Spell A Day book, something I absolutely love for quick daily spells.

For this spell you need a black or red candle, red pepper, and a tarot deck.  You will need the Death card, and the Judgment(Rebirth) cards out of the deck.

Light a black or red candle that is sprinkled with black pepper.

Take the Death or Judgment tarot cards.  While looking at it, concentrate on letting everything you wish or need to let go into the card.  You might see it as black energy flowing from you into the card.

You might feel like crying, which is good! Releasing negativity can produce this feeling, just let it go and cry if needed.

Then visualize the Judgment or Rebirth taro card.  Fill the hole that was left by this negative energy leaving you with love and light.  See your wishes of what you would rather do other than the negative habit, or energy you are releasing fill you.  For me, I want to see me desiring healthy food, and daily exercising.  Also believe that the Goddess or God of your choice will help you with this, flowing their energy into you as a white light giving you the power to keep the negative energy/habit from returning.

Rejoice, knowing that now you bravely faced a dark time or something dark inside you, and accept your new vitality and strength to keep it from returning.

What a day today is! New Moon, Chinese New Year, and Solar Eclipse

New Moon Rituals No Comments »

Today is the start of Chinese New Years (Year of the Ox, my year by the way), The New Moon, AND a solar eclipse! Could you stuff more wammy into a day or what?

According to Cerridwen Iris Shea:

There’s energy for fresh starts with the New Moon and New Year energies. The ox represents strength and endurance. What you begin now has the capacity to last a long time. The solar eclipse lends positive, active energy to the change.

Today is a VERY good day for concentrating on goals you wish to achieve in this new year. It is also a good day to list some long term goals, as the ox energy of endurance will help you to persevere in the long run.

My plan is to write a list of goals. Some for the next few weeks (get my books ready for my accountant, blecch) some for the year, and some for long term. Then under each goal I’ll write active steps I can take towards the goal (planning an hour a day to work on my books until they are done).

I plan on then creating ritual space, and placing my goals on my altar. I will probably anoint the sheet with some of my oils to help with the goals (healing and fast money and business success will the the three I’ll use). I’ll visualize me in the future once the goals are completed. (positive visualization is always a good thing when working on goals). Then finally I’ll ask the Goddess and God, and the four elements to lend their energies in achieving my goals.

After doing my ritual, I’ll place the goals in my book of shadows, and review them every month. Check off the goals I’ve achieved, and remind myself of what I need to work on to make the goals I haven’t achieved to happen.

I hope this helps you in planning your New Moon, Year of the Ox, Solar Eclipse celebration!
